I can't believe it has been a month since I posted. What a fun and truly wonderful month it has been! I have been wrapping up my school year, (we go all the way until June 12th thanks to the many "cold" days) celebrating the marriage of two wonderful people, celebrating family, celebrating friendships, and celebrating my mighty Blackhawks as they play to bring Lord Stanley back home.
Everyday that I get to spend on this Earth is a day to celebrate. I am so blessed to have such an amazing group of people to work with. As the students get hyped up for summer vacation their behaviors can get a little off. We are all doing our best to keep them engaged and inline. Sometimes by the end of the day we just look at each other and smile. No words need to be spoken. We are in this together!
Another blessing was being able to witness two amazing people say their marriage vows. There is something so beautiful about love and to watch two people pledge to love each other for the rest of their lives is just so refreshing and beautiful.
I thank God everyday for my amazing family. I am so proud to be part of a group of people who love one another and others. We laugh together, we cry together, and we share a wonderful bond. My grandmother is 93 and she is simply amazing. She has instilled in us a fighting spirit, a love for gardening, and the ability to strive to be the best each of us can be.
I am so blessed to have so many truly wonderful people that I get to call my friend. This month we celebrated the birthday of one of my dearest friends. It was truly a wonderful celebration.
Last, but not least, the mighty Blackhawks. Yesterday, one of my students asked me what my favorite sport was and without missing a beat another student responded for me, hockey - duh! Hockey has quickly become my favorite sport. I love watching the game and cheering on my team. This season has been particularly exciting and I am looking forward to watching the rest of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Fingers crossed for a Blackhawk Championship!
I hope that the past month as been as good to you as it has been to me. I hope that if it has been difficult you can find the good in some of the things you have experienced. Here's to the weekend and to having the ability to wake up each morning!
