**The song that it linked "One Day at a Time" is a song that I first heard at my Grandma's house. Listening to it today reminded me how lucky I am that I have been blessed with such amazing people throughout my life, especially my family.
Recently, I have been reminded of how overwhelming life can be. Especially when we are in the midst of a crisis. It made me reflect back to when I was ill and how I learned to take everything one day at a time. It is so easy to escalate our thinking to all the "what-if's" that lurk out there in the future. When we do this we can't focus on the tasks that we need to get through the day. As I write this I am remembering those moments when I would let my mind rush ahead and think about all the many things that I was facing that were out of my control. I learned quickly that I had to wipe those thoughts from my mind and take charge of the things I could control in the present. I have said take things one day at a time yet I have been reminded that for many they need to take things one hour at a time, and that is okay too. The important thing to remember is that you are bigger than your struggle and that if you take it one hour or one day at a time you will succeed and you will overcome your crisis.
